Xiaomi has released another Affordable Flagship phone, the Xiaomi Mi 10 5G. Let’s unbox and see the full specs, performance, and of course, the price!
Xiaomi Mi 10 5G comes in 2 colors – Twilight Grey and Coral Green. The phone we have is in Twilight Gray. This phone has a glossy back design that looks very similar to the Mi Note 10. It also has a quad-camera setup and led flash. On the top are the speaker grill, IR Blaster, and Microphone. They did not put anything on the right side. On the left are the volume rockers and the power/lock button. And at the bottom are the speaker grill, microphone, USB C Port, and Simtray.
The sad news is it only has a Single Nano Sim and it doesn’t have a MicroSD card slot.
The good news is it already has stereo speakers so you can expect a loud and clear sound. Except when you are gaming because you can easily cover the speaker grills with your hands when playing. Lastly at the front is the Punch hole Selfie camera with a pre-installed screen protector. It has In-display fingerprint unlock and AI Face unlock
16.94cm (6.67) 3D Curved E3 AMOLED Display
Size: 1080 x 2340 FHD+
Type: Curved AMOLED
Screen to Body Ratio: 92.4%
Brightness: 1120nits (peak brightness)
Color Gamut: User-selectable colour gamut (sRGB / DCI-P3 / auto) 100% sRGB, 100% DCI-P3, 100% NTSC
Xiaomi Mi 10 5G has TrueColor Technology and supports DCI-P3 Wide color gamut and HDR10+. So when it comes to colors, you are guaranteed an accurate display. It also has a 90Hz Screen refresh rate that gives it a more fluid performance. Actually, a 60Hz refresh rate is already acceptable to me since it already has an AMOLED display, but Xiaomi is very generous to give us a 90Hz refresh rate.
The usual problem of Amoled displays is bright environments especially when you are outdoor. But since Xiaomi Mi 10 5g has 500 nits typ. the brightness that can reach up to 854 to 1,120 nits peak, the bright environment will not be a problem.
As already mentioned, it has DotDisplay, also known as Punch hole camera selfie. The front cam placement is perfect for me since it doesn’t disturb me during my media consumption.
The curved display adds a more premium touch to it. But for me, I still prefer flat screens. Maybe I’m just afraid to break it just in case it will fall. Yes, it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 so it won’t easily get scratched. But at the end of the day, glass is glass and glass is breakable. But again, this is just my preference. A lot of people prefer the curved display.
The in-display fingerprint scanner is also fast and very accurate. No need to register your thumb multiple times. One of the first things I noticed when I used it is the Haptic Feedback. I usually turn this off because most phones’ haptic feedback makes the whole phone vibrate. But this phone is different. Only the key you are pressing vibrates. This is not the best haptic feedback I tried but this is definitely one of the best haptic feedback in the competition.

Out of the box, it has Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top of it. Since it is a flagship phone, it will surely get MIUI 12 and Android 11 updates in the future. Actually, Xiaomi already announced the Android 11 beta version for Poco F2 Pro and Mi 10 5G.
The latest Snapdragon 865 (7nm+) chipset assures us of a flagship performance but I still tested it using AnTuTu Benchmark and Asphalt 9. The AnTuTu Benchmark score is 566,830. The Asphalt 9 gameplay was impressive. It was able to generate all the details and graphics.
According to Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Mi 10 5G has the most sophisticated cooling system Xiaomi has ever created. In other words, it won’t heat up during heavy usage. And It’s true, after the AnTuTu Benchmark and Asphalt 9 test, which is considered heavy use, it surprisingly did not have an alarming heat.
The UFS 3.0 gives it additional speed when opening apps.

Battery and Charging
Built-in rechargeable battery
USB Type-C Charging Port
Wired Charger Specifications: 30W
Wireless charging specifications: 30W
Charger Specifications: 30W wired charger (in – box)
Wireless Reverse Charging: Up to 10W
For a flagship phone, 4780mAh battery seems to be small. But remember that its older brother, Mi 10 Pro even has a lower battery capacity if 4500mAh so it is definitely an upgrade here. It is capable of dast wired and wireless charging 30W and Reverse Wireless Charging. That means you can charge your other device on the back of Mi 10 5G.
We tested the battery performance using PC Mark. From 100% to 10%, I was able to get 15 hours and 18 mins Screen on Time. Awesome! We can expect it to last for up to 2 days.
The charging time is also impressive. I started at 10%.
50% – 20 mins
100% – 1 hour 3 mins
This shows that Xiaomi Mi 10 5G has a long battery life and fast charging time.
